"Sometimes when Marine veterans talk, I listen. This particular Marine is an entrepreneur and something of a mentor when it comes to business, so I was inclined to tune in."

This is what I need. I am an unemployed workaholic and I just need direction. I have very little business sense.

There are some great entrepreneurship program available for free/cheap to veterans. Recommend looking these up if you're interested:

Institute for Veterans and Military Families through Syracuse University
http://vets.syr.edu/programs-for-you/veterans/

Stanford Ignite for Post 9/11 Veterans
http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/programs/stanford-ignite/campus/post-9-11-veterans

TechStars Patriot Boot Camp
http://www.techstars.com/patriotbootcamp/

Inc.com events for military entrepreneurs
http://www.inc.com/military-entrepreneurs

Thrive 15 - online training free to military/veterans/spouses
http://www.Thrive15.com

I've been to the Stanford Program and it was outstanding. I've interviewed people on my podcast who have done the other programs. If you have any questions, hit me up. I'll answer what I can or connect you to someone who will.

One final note. While I have taken advantage of some outstanding training programs, both paid and on scholarship, on entrepreneurship, I would say that most of the information taught can be found online in blogs and articles and books. If you're interested in entrepreneurship, but don't have the time or money to commit to some of the programs mentioned above, take heart in knowing that the information offered by all of these can be found if you put in the dedication to research and network.

Thanks for sharing COL Mikel J. Burroughs.

I have been giving some thought recently into starting my own business(es). Nothing huge that I can make millions or even hundreds of thousands of dollars doing, but just something that I have a passion for, think they're services that people would like to have.
