Classic misdirection by using a straw man - a logical fallacy.
The President knows that the deal will not have political support on its merits, so he has to make an emotional and false argument that not approving it means war.
Bull.

I've been looking for a 'declaration", I think the confusion is that the U.S. will use air support for the newly trained Syrian rebels that are fighting in Syria. Did I explain that correctly? Sgt Kelli Mays

The United States has a Constitution which clearly defines the duties and responsibilities of the branches of government specifically in the matters of treaties. Now the Administration can try to reinvent words to avoid the necessity of procuring the consent of Congress, but words have consequences.
That being said, let's look at the President's arguments...
The world approves of his deal. So what. The Constitution gives "the world" no authority in American treaties.
The Republicans are war mongers. Again, even if true, so what. And I don't think that name calling won't do much to persuade the GOP members of Congress to support the President.
Finally, there's the deal itself. Sadly, I do not have representation in the US Senate. I live in California. Still, I write with little hope of influencing the debate. The following is the text of my letters to Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. I hope you have better luck with yours...

There is little doubt in my mind that you will vote in favor of the Iran Agreement regardless of the harm it will do let alone my opposition to it. However, I cannot allow this opportunity to pass to add my voice to the debate.
The "agreement" negotiated by the Administration isn't really an agreement. It is a series of concessions that will lead inexorably to disaster for Israel, the Middle East, the world, and the United States. The "side agreements" virtually guarantee this. If I am wrong, why isn't the Administration boasting of them as well as the "agreement" itself?
Sadly, I fear that the majority of the Senate will vote with you in approving this agreement and I will be left with nothing but the "satisfaction" of saying "I told you so" from the ashes. No, there won't be much satisfaction in that, will there?

I think POTUS is delusional. Has he forgotten about the Iran hostage crisis for 444 days. Iran has "hated" the U.S. since the coupe and the Shah was thrown out of power. i've posted elsewhere, Iran's mantra has been death to America and annihilate Israel. The mantra will never change...
