I'm getting med retired, got to choose my out date. I want out soon so I can start my new job asap. My retirement briefing is 7 Dec and I request an out date of 15 Dec. Is that plausible? The retirement reps for this base have not answered there phones or replied to emails. Just want to plan my next steps after the army properly.

We can opine all day what we think is plausible however when it comes to matters as important and individualized as retirement you really need to face-to-face directly with the retirement services branch or personnel office at your installation. You cannot plan well for this transition unless you go to the authoritative source for your specific situation.

To answer your initial question, I received my retirement orders last November, and did my Retirment briefing in December.
