Where can I get mobility stairs to help disabled vet get in and out of home?

I am not clear on what mobility stairs are, however if it is something that can be purchased as opposed to fabricated, his/her primary care provider at the VA can prescribe and get it for them.

Basically looking for a lift chair to take up a flight of stairs. Installed like a railing to give accessibility. Looking for providers of this equipment (I have an installer) but need to know how to get purchase authorized
