How idiotic and intrusive can people get nowadays? This story, I think, certainly crosses the "dumb*ss laws" line. How can this even be enforceable? What is the end result? To ensure that NO ONE can grill at their private residence anymore?

Probably not many fireplaces in Florida, but I've read where some areas have banned smoke from them. Yeah, right ... I just hauled a cord of cherry wood from outside my barn to a log holder on the back patio.
On a similar note - here they send deputized dog inspectors who knock on your door and ask to see you dog license, etc. They only came to mine once, and asked if I had a dog. I asked if he had one, and how many kids did he have. He told me that wasn't any of my business, so I said whether I have a dog or not, is none of his. Then I asked for a Warrant. No Warrant? NO discussion, bye!
They like to look in peoples' back yards for dog bowls etc ... sometimes with binoculars; but my property isn't viewable from the road ... so only if they trespass can the see ANY indication of a dog (no outside food because of bears, raccoons, foxes and coyotes!) LOL

A nearby Township has smoke regulations and cite many people who burn their leaves in the Fall. Not allowed campfires or trash burning either, BUT people get around that by having hotdogs on sticks for when the police arrive. Time for campfires are regulated too; but again, out come the hotdogs! LOL
