The US has said it will help Ukraine with radar and potential counter-fire.

How does this affect US-Russian relations, and what is next in that region?

Its still a possibility at this, pending the white house.

And it would be interesting to see how this effects US-Russo relations. I could see Putin and the Kremlin seeing this as no different than what we're doing now, to him calling out the US for stepping in a meddling in things we "don't understand". It's a little proxy warish and Im sure all you who loved through the cold war are getting some nostalgia right now, but I doubt it would escalate to more than just sabre rattling by the US and Russia.

2ndLt (Join to see) I have to agree I don't think this is going to cause a war by any means. Neither the US nor Russia wants to go to war with the other. That said it does seem Russia is willing/desirous of doing so with Ukraine.

LCDR (Join to see) Sir, I think Russia is going to play the long game in Ukraine. Right now it looks like they will try and consolidate their position in Crimea, utilize that to expand their navy even further in the Black Sea and start to slowly encroach into Eastern Europe again, probably starting with Ukraine or Georgia.
