As I'm aware SFAB is a 36-month commitment. Will a Soldier be able to transition/progress to becoming a WO or is he/she locked into that SFAB contract? Will a Soldier have to reimburse the Army for any money invested in that Soldier such as putting them through CAT-C, $5,000 SFAB volunteer assignment, etc?

One of my Advisors was just selected to attend WOC. If you are selected for and graduate WOC while at SFAB you will be released from the unit. Normally you must complete 12 months minimum to avoid paying back the $5k, but there are exceptions to everything. If you plan on doing less then 12 months you're probably better off staying in your old unit for better letters of recommendation for the WOC board.

I went to infantry school in 1968 at Camp Crocket, Ft Gordon, Ga. And I have the class picture to prove it. If you were there say hello.
