Extended family has a WWII era Navy pilot and they want to create something for him. I told them about a shadow box and they think it would be perfect. Any recommendations for companies that will create this with the proper records and we send the personal memorabilia?

In my opinion, browsing Etsy is a good place to start. Many of my friends over the years developed great talent as they pursued their hobbies off duty. Etsy is an easy platform for them to market themselves (though Etsy does take a big cut of their profit).
My favorite stuff, whether a shadow box or something else, has always been from locals in whatever area I was stationed at.

If you are near a base that has a wood hobby shop, they usually have someone in their that works there that can make you one. This is mine and I had it made for me and I asked a Lt in my unit where I was retiring from to put the memorabilia in it however she felt fit to do so. I paid for the box and it wasn't to expensive. Also sometimes Michaels and Hobby Lobby have some nice ones as well...but you just have to get lucky whenthey have them.

MSgt (Join to see) thanks...good conversation starter...I work on an AF base and I don't tell.folks I am retired...lots of times they think I am a dumb civilian till they walk into my office and see that...suddenly their mindset changes and they start to listen...love it hanging on my wall...takes me back to a simpler and much younger time in my life!
