When will the national Military Police Concealed Weapons Permit (HR 218) go into effect?

http://www.ammoland.com/2013/07/law-enforcement-officers-safety-act-allows-m Consistantly seeing these advertisements but not a concrete answer when it is in effects and which states will adhear to the permit. Anyone have news?

I'd like to see the right to carry extended to all military. I'd like to see the "Armed Forces" authorized to be Armed more debate on the topic. OF COURSE they should be allowed to carry. Open or concealed. Who are we kidding? If you don't agree with me, read the below. Why do these people get to carry, but military members don't?

It is in effect right now under LEOSA. All military police are considered federal law enforcement officers under HR 218. As long as they pay for the permit, and carry that permit on them, they can conceal carry. On military installations, the wing commander has approval authority. Air Force Brigadier General Jamerson (top cop) came to FE Warren AFB a few years ago and briefed us about the LEOSA program.

Is the exemption provided by the law total—can I now carry anywhere at any
time?
No. The new law exempts all qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State and local laws with respect to the carrying of concealed firearms. These officers are not exempt from Federal law or regulation, which governs the carriage of firearms onto aircraft or other “common carriers,” Federal buildings, Federal property, or national parks.

They are doing Bata testing at Fort Hood now. It won't be long now.

The Airforce has alowed base commanders to allow MPs to carry on/off duty with these creds and several bases alow it.
