The ability of future presidents—whether Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, or other politicians yet unknown—to employ torture as an American interrogation technique will be firmly and finally ended should a measure proposed Tuesday by Senators John McCain and Dianne Feinstein be accepted.

Simply put, we shouldn't need laws to say torture is wrong. We shouldn't need laws to say torture isn't allowed.

We shouldn't need some #%^#%$^# lawyer debating what is and isn't torture. If someone even thinks it might be torture and has to call a lawyer in to debate it. It's torture.

We're supposed to be better than that.

You can judge the sickness of a society by the number (and type) of laws it has. If you have a law that says that torture isn't allowed...

SGT (Join to see) In all seriousness, I may get angry about things all the time, but I don't get "irate" about much.

The torture thing made my blood boil. I was furious, to the point where I couldn't compose a complete sentence for several minutes.

I just don't understand how any decent human being can think the use of torture is a good idea. I don't care what the results are. That's one of the lines in the sand we're not supposed to cross.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS, that's what I thought you were saying. The Far East has always seemed to not have any humanity when it came to torture. I can understand McCains feelings. It's going to happen. I just don't want to know about it.
