Hello I'm a 91b specialist currently in the army with 6 and half years in. My ets is on my 7th year mark. I want to reclass to 17c, but I just pcs from Korea. I have 10 months until my ets. So I went in to reclass and the retention nco said that I need a year in current duty station in order to reclass. But rcp for a e-4 is 10 years. So if I extended another year my new ets would be my 8th year mark, and I don't think you can reclass for 2 years. So is there any waiver or something I can do to reclass with less than a year at duty station?

Have you been accepted to 17C? You don't just reclass into it, you have to be accepted. If you have your acceptance letter you can take it to your Career Counselor who will send up the request and you'll get a class date that's one year at your time on station mark

I agree with MSG (Join to see) - You really need to FOCUS ON PROMOTION TO SGT!
Then you'll have more opportunities. Looking at your career situation, I would recommend working towards getting promoted to SSG - then focus on meeting the requirements to move up to Warrant Officer. When I was a 91 series, that's what I would do, 20/20 in hindsight...

The AIT alone is 45 weeks. That's 10-11 months. Even if you extended for one year, you're be ETSing shortly after AIT is over. The Army isn't going to pony up all that money to train you just to lose you that soon after the course. You'd more than likely have to re-enlist for a couple of years. Which also means you better hurry up and make Sergeant.
