70B Branch Transfer from AMEDD / MS to MI. Should I graduate MI CCC first or submit request now?

I am a 70B who just got assigned to a MI position and am scheduled for MI CCC. I’ve heard that AMEDD has to release you before you can claim another branch as your Primary. Is this accurate? If so, would my best course be to wait until I graduate MI CCC to submit my request or should I submit now?

AMEDD has to agree to release you. Afterwards you can submit a branch transfer upon meeting the qualifications to do so.

All depends but your statement about AMEDD release I thing is true; to some extent. In the Regular Army, yes. Within the Reserve Component I believe (don’t quote me) there is some room to wiggle. Therefore, you might want to address your question to your higher HQs who assigned you to your new position (35A I assume).
