I am currently deployed, my MOS is 91B, I am currently in a 91M position, slotted for reclass, however after doing some life choices and thoughts, I want to pursue the MOS of 15T to start out in aviation, to have it align with stuff I am doing on civilian side, however aside from the “open vacancy” list for the Minnesota national guard, i dont know of any other ways to get info / my foot in the door making a big career change like that

15U would be equally good for experience that would transition to the civilian sector.
Plus you can carry more stuff in a Chinook. Just saying.

I started off active duty as a 67T or 15T now and then moved on to flight school. If you are guard my best advice is to go to the nearest guard aviation unit in Minnesota, preferably the lift unit. Hook up with the 1st Sgt or senior flight NCO (E-7 or E-6). Those are the ones who will guide or lead you to transitioning into a 15T slot. Plus they can help with informing you of the current need of 15T across Minnesota.

I second the advise of going to the aasf or the AVN unit. Aviation in the Guard is extremely close knit, they don't really like outsiders forcing their way in. Definitely a lift unit, so you aren't just a "runner upper dude" in an attack unit. Show them your willingness to start from the bottom and work your way up. Battalions have the power to make it a heck of a lot easier to transfer in.

Also I deployed with a MEDEVAC unit out of Minnesota (a long time ago) and their crewchiefs and pilots were pretty cool.

Aside from extenuating circumstances, you’d probably have to wait for your reenlistment window to open and get the reclass as part of your contract.
