What are the Current Tuition Assistance Limitations like for Active Duty?

I already have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, and was just informed by a young sailor that T.A. will only pay for your masters program - As opposed to earning another degree in an unrelated field. I am seriously considering returning to active duty, partly so I can study optometry. But will T.A. say no to that?

Are you saying you want a bachelor in Optometry? That wouldn't actually make you am optometrist. You need a Doctorate for that, but TA isn't authorized for Doctoral or PhD programs.

Well there's no such thing as a Bachelor of Optometry. But I would still need to take the requisite classes to be accepted into an Optometry program sometime in the future.

SPC July Macias well that's actually a different question. TA will allow you to take additional classes needed for acceptance into a higher program, but it won't allow you to pursue a second bachelor
"I" know there's no such thing as a Bachelor in Optometry lol. But I once had a medic tell me her after the Army plan was to go to school for a Bachelor in Dermatology and I had to explain to her that Dermatologists are MDs first, so I have to ask these things lol

I used TA to get my first Master's since I already had a Bachelor's. I know that TA has changed since I used it but I don't think even then I could have gotten another Bachelor's with it.
