You single or married? The Soldiers that live in the barracks there don't know how good they have it lol! It's not too bad there. Not too much around around St Roberts/Waynesville tbh. Rolla is about 20mins, Springfield is about 2 and St Louis is about 3 hrs. I liked being in the 5th. Your BDE is the 36th at Hood but unless anything changed since I will be there you'll be in the 5th EN Battalion.

Im single! I’ve heard good things about the barracks there. Thankfully coming from Fort Riley i won’t have too far of a drive to move, but i’m excited for new opportunities, thank you for the insight!

Youll be going to the 5th engineer battalion. Multiple light sapper companies, RC, boat/bridging, more. Im at the k9 detachment. Life in the 5th is what you make it. You probably wont know what company youre going to till you start inprocessing.

By light sapper I mean 113’s so dont be so hopeful just yet... best place to be in the 5th is either 509th route clearance or 94th k9. Once you get to FLW look out for the pre handler flyers for k9 if it seems like something youd want to do. We hold classes every 6 months, if your selected &pass all the tests then we’ll send you to the next school date. SGT Declan White

Better than Bradley’s at least, i’d definitely be interested in trying for handler so i’ll have to check that out once i get there. What’s deployments look like for there? SSG (Join to see)
