Does anybody know anything about the group CAIR and have they accomplished any good?

I am not trying to start an argument, but I just read an article about the group CAIR, the council on American-Islamic relations, and it really bothered me. Apparently one of their leaders is very anti-Memorial Day. The original articles link is below.

Have heard more negative reactions to this group than I have positive. IMO who gives a damn about whether or not they care or respect the Memorial Day holiday. Our brothers and sisters in arms have fought and died for this country just so this d*****nozzle can spout this bs, I may not like or agree with what is being said by this individiot, but I will fight to the death for her right to be stupid!
If you don't like Memorial day, and you think things are so much better somewhere else, then by all means go somewhere else, hell go anywhere else.

I agree! How can you be part of a group that is supposed to promote relations between with the U.S., but than publicly bash a day that Americans respect? Makes no sense.
