I served at Ground Zero during 9/11. Our unit was one of the first to respond. I have paperwork taking me from the National Guard and putting me on Active Duty. However, this does not seem to qualify me for having been involved in any war or conflict, nor does it qualify me for any benefits. Why not?

It's my understanding that the Executive Order that placed the United States at war with Terrorists wasn't signed until days after 9/11/01. So that raises the question, how long were you activated for? Did you only serve at Ground Zero during the days and weeks following the event? When talking with the VBA, what are some of the reasons they are telling you that you do not qualify for benefits?

What benefits do you want? Oh and thank you for being there serving that day!
