You are never required to go to Airborne school, going Airborne is 100% voluntary and requires signing an Airborne acceptance statement agreeing to be on jump status for three years.

So, for when I'm getting my orders, doing my 5118 and stuff it says I need to do a AAA-234 and that's for me to volunteer. Can I just skip over it and still get my orders? Thank you for your help.

SGT (Join to see) you can't skip over it. You must either sign it and agree to go Airborne or sign that you refuse to go Airborne and possibly lose the assignment

Required? No, jumping out of old, made from the lowest bidder aircraft, and trusting your life to a silk chute made from another low bidder and rigged by a fellow soldier who may or may not have had a rough night prior is purely a voluntary activity. When you hit the ground @ Bragg, your situation may or may not change -- drop zones are more fun when you are not on drop zone duty. Good luck with your decision and enjoy the heck out of my hometown -- yeah, Fayetteville.

You won't be forced to go to airborne school. Also, not all positions in HHC 16th MP BDE are PPP (paid parachutist position).
