My favorite place is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If I could I would go there almost everyday of the year to hike the trails. There are about 900 miles of trail but I have only hiked maybe 125 miles of them so far. Halloween 2020 my daughter and I walked the Cades Cove Loop Road.* That part was eleven miles and we also hiked to Abram Falls. Simply beautiful. Here is a link to our hike. Twelve minutes of your life you will never get back!

Next year she want to hike Mt. LeConte with me. I have hiked it many times but she never has. It will be quite an adventure.

*If you do go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and enjoy history, step back in time to the 1800's and go to Cades Cove. Lots of old original log homes. The oldest was built in 1821.

LBL is a good walk. Watch out for Bison and Elk. Smokies are a gem too.

I'm not much of a hiker but I love to bike the 11mi loop around Cades Cove. If you go early in the morning or late in the evening, lots of wildlife is out and can be viewed. Watch out for the bears though!

Biking is great (as long as it is before they allow the cars in) also but walking, you see so much more!

If my wife and all but one pup passed away tomorrow ( I don't want that, they, my boys my pups are my life) Id shutter the house, take the remaining pup and hike the continental divide end to end. 3,100 miles of just me, my dog and it

If you do start the hike let us know! Perseverance is the key. When the going gets tough keep on going.
If I make it to 101 years old I plan to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine or die trying. I will be advertising for the Marines and the Veterans of this country the whole way. My son says he is going with me and he will be 70 years old. Who knows, I may do it before then but for some reason I have the 101 in my head. I know my wife (forty years now) would never approve of my attempting such a feat.
