Chances are slim to none, even when it won a Pulitzer. Basics- lay out the who, what and why and try to show the service where it you be in Their best interest. Good bet it's a waste of timer.

USMC is very selective on prior service, even their own prior service.
The Army would be almost guaranteed.
Your letter should go in depth in how you want to advance your military career on active duty, what those career goals are, as well as the opportunity to serve your nation full time.

Hell, sometimes a TAG will even approve a letter if it discusses the poor job market in the state and the opportunity to provide for your family on active duty. TAGs are invested in the MDAYs' employment opportunities, even if it means losing one to get him to work.

SPC (Join to see) Here is one post and you can do a search to find other posts that deal with going from the reserves to active duty. Why do you want to become a Marine, how much time do you have remaining on your Army National Guard contract, and have you talked to a Marine Recruiter? I have also attached a post dealing with writing the letter.

I have been in for two years now and have 4 remaining as far as wanting to become a marine it honestly just seems like a better fit for me love the guard and army I have had a great opportunity to meet really good ncos that have mentored me and help me better understand my job in the military but the guard is kinda holding me back in the military career aspect. I have seen many spcs in my unit since I got there for the first time and till now they are still Spc it’s just really hard to get slotted into a corporal. I know switching branches will probably cost me rank but i know I have a better chance ranking up in active duty status.
