Without breaking OPSEC, my squad is on night shift (2400hrs SP)and right when shift is over we sleep. Wake up is at NLT 1400. What time is the correct cutoff time for alcohol consumption? We are on armed duty during shift also on a title 10 CONUS deployment. I want my guys to unwind and relax but I also don’t want anyone ****** on a technicality if a SIR and investigation take place from an incident. I tried looking it up in AR’s but the only reg I’m finding is AR600-85 ASAB. Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is a time sensitive matter. Thanks in advance.

I work nights too. Generally if I'm going to drink I do it when I get home after work. This gives me about eight hours of sleep plus some extra time to make sure there's no alcohol in my system. I wouldn't advice drinking after you wake up. If your squad wants a beer or something they should have it after work. If they want to get drunk then they should save it for their weekends. Hope this helps some.

I don't think there is a specific list anywhere, it's usually command dictated. For instance, when I was in the 82nd it was 12 hours prior to any jump.
