Though we may find it disrespectful, she is exercising her Right to Protest.

We don't just defend the parts of the Constitution we like, we defend all of it.

The Flag is a Living Symbol of America. It is also a symbol of our Government. A government that has failed a great many of our People.

Can you blame them for wanting to take out their anger on what they perceive to be a "Symbol of the Government?"

We don't swear to protect the flag. We don't swear to protect the government. We swear to protect the Constitution. We swear to support and the defend the right of every person to exercise their right to free speech. Protest against the government (inclduing through desecration of the flag) is, without question, the right of the people. At the end of the day, the flag is just cloth, it is a SYMBOL of the freedom we serve to protect and defend. While she may descecrate the cloth flag, she is exercising her rights to free speech - and her right to free speech is what we defend - not a flag. I'm not willing to lay down my life from a flag - I'm willing to lay down my life for the freedoms that the flag symbolizes.

It may not look right or feel right and it may hurt your feelings, but you have to accept that THIS is EXACTLY what we need to be defending the right to do.

Voltaire said something to the affect of, "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." That is our job. That is our mission. And the fact that this person CAN do this freely and without being dragged about by the government or arrested by the police means that, for now, we are doing our job.

When it turns into making videos to be internet famous, it is no longer a protest. Free speech sure, but please do not try to convince me that she danced on the American Flag for any reason other than her own instagram ratings. Please don't give her what she wants. Let her fade away.

PO2 William Allen Crowder The Government has its flaws, like any other. The Nation is great and has no equal. I'll support the Nation with my dying breath. I'll support the Government when it deserves it.

PO3 Steven Sherrill I never share these things, not here nor on FB or any other social media. I'll discuss them however. When asked "What should be done?" I gave my opinion, which is simple. It's a Freedom issue. I don't like what she's doing, never even implied that I did. Called it disrespectful as a matter of fact.

I'm a firm believer in all Freedoms. Including people's Freedom to make bad decisions. The instagram linked is an example of one, in my opinion, however it is also a Protest. As Protest is Subjective, I cannot say whether her's is valid or not. Therefor it is Protected like all other Protest, whether I like it or not.

Exercise your freedom to ignore and if the opportunity arises to not pick her up when she falls.

People like this want attention!! Stop giving it to them! Continuing to share the picture on multiple social media sources is just satisfying their intent more and more. They want to be seen and heard, and will stop at nothing to achieve that.

I think "consider the source" is a good mantra.
