Hello,
Four years ago (summer of 2016 to be exact) I received an ELS with a Chapter 11 discharge from Army basic training. I have an RE code of 3. I was going through a lot in my life at that time and got out due to depression. Now, I am 3 years clean off of anti-depression drugs and feel like a better person. Family, kid, etc. I was wondering, what are my chances of getting a waiver on getting back in? I lost my job due to covid but have been wanting to ask this question for a long time now, and still I know that the Army is my dream, even after four years. Thank you. Sorry if this question has been asked before too, I couldn't find any posts like it.

Very unlikely mainly due to the possibility of re-occurrence, but you won’t know unless you try

Kyler Korsakas - Better off going in face-to-face. It will allow them to see that you're healthy, and it will put a face to the name. That should make them more willing to work a little harder for you than for just some name on an email.

CPT (Join to see) - Anytime you have to deal with a recruiter the first contact should be in person. Don't hide or sugar coat things. It will help if you something from a physicians stating you are over the period and would be suitable for service. If the AD won't work, give the Guard or Reserves a shot. There is always Active Guard Reserve slots once you get in.

Make contact with a recruiter. Go into a recruiting office. Go try. You will not know until you try. Go get it done. At least you'll know one way or another then. You never know!
