I have a question regarding reclass to 35G and interim clearances. I was assigned to an MI battalion as a 91B , which is overstrength and asked if it were possible to reclass to any open MI slots. They said it was possible to reclass to 35G given the proper sign offs. I currently have a secret and submitted my SF86 and all other paperwork for TS but I know they are serverly delayed getting through clearances. I was wondering if it were possible to attend the class with an interim clearance or would I have to wait for the TS to clear. If possible to attend with interim, would I contact my BN security manager for an interim, or who would I contact for the interim clearance. Thanks for any info.

The required clearance for any course is listed on the ATRRS Course Catalog.
If you are allowed to attend with an interim, it must be a centrally granted Interim - meaning the CCIF, not one granted by your commander. The Interim granted by your commander is only good at your unit.

There are some 35 MOSs that will allow people to attend with an interim TS and interim SCI. You have to get it granted interim though. The interim TS is granted by going through your S2 and they submit to DOD CAF. Interim SCI you have to submit through your SSO who will submit it on DISS. That is up to DoD CAF to determine if they want to grant you interim SCI though. I have seen them deny people interim SCI while they're investigation is open.
You definitely need to be talking to your Security Manager (generally S2) and the SSO.
