If you step away from joining the Navy Reserve, does it affect your honorable discharge as a Prior Service?

I was Active Army 4 years, and decided I wanted to join the Navy reserves. Unfortunately due to some family problems, I have to step away from joining. I have gone to meps, I have not gone to my first drill or A school, but the recruiter told me I "signed" documents, though I have never received paperwork on when I begin my service contract, or given me anytype of service contract. He does say it might get my Re code from 1 to 4, but will it affect my Honorable?

If you went to MEPS and swore into the Navy Reserves, THAT is the day your new service contract starts. Not sure about Navy Reserves, but Army Reserves, a new troop is not required to attend Reserve duties until they are MOS-Q. Contact your Recruiter to find out what unit you were assigned to. If that is known, then contact the unit and speak with them. And let them know of your issues. Also, let your Recruiter know of your issues.

Your 214 won't change, but you will not get a 256A at the end of the 8 year MSO.
