I signed my contract for the 25B mos last week it is slated to be 5 years and 35 weeks in total. Im in DEP if that helps. I am wondering is it a possibility to lower my contract by a year. Or is 5 years the standard for 25B's ?

I signed the same contract in 2012. AIT is almost 5 months. Use all of those years to get IT certifications for free. The experience you will gain is priceless. Trust me having certifications are worth their weight and more in gold.

Go to as many schools as you can, schools= time away from the unit and gaining good knowledge. Also it will come in handy when it's time for the promotion board/soldier of the month board.
