What do you think the role of the Army is regarding the transition of soldiers from active duty?
To do their best to assist with the transition from helping with resume's for both the private sector and for government service as well, I don't mean giving classes or power point presentations, but to actually have someone to help guide them through writing and tweaking that military jargon into civilian speak, and also to help pinpoint key words and phrases that will push them to the top of the heap of all the applicants. I also think there should be a more centralized hiring process at the local installations to assist in getting contract and GS jobs for the veterans that are planning on remaining in the local area of the installation, because if they are being put out due to RIF, at least help them back on their feet for the civilian side of their second careers.
And for the 2nd part, no it is not being done nor is enough to help the transition of RIF or retirees from the military by the Army/DOD/VA at all.
