I've been an 88M for almost 10 years now. I would really like to be a logistics warrant but 88M converts to 153a when we go warrant. Do I need to apply specifically for logistics warrant or is 153a the only choice?

88M is a direct feeder MOS for 882A - Mobility Officer.

Which Logistics Warrant MOS were you looking to go into? While there are specific feeder MOSs for each Warrant MOS, there have been times that NCOs from outside MOSs have applied and been accepted. I recommend going to the Warrant Officer Recruiting website and seeing what the prerequisites for the MOS you are interested in. Find a Senior Warrant Officer of that MOS, hopefully in your unit, and talk to them about your desire to obtain that MOS. He should be able to talk to the branch proponent office to see what the likelihood of a non-feeder MOS packet from being approved through them. There are always exceptions that can be made.
If you do not have a local senior Warrant to talk to, do not be scared to contact the proponent directly. Their number and email are listed on the description page of each MOS on the recruiting website.

I'm really interested to hear from anyone who has information on this. This is my goal in the future as well.
