I am aware of funding cuts that include the cuts to generous production of unit coins. Are coins a thing of the past? Are they just becoming more limited? Do you collect them? Should they be cut in budgets? When did coins really take off and become a big collectible? During which era? Your comments?

The first one I saw was given out at an Air Force Conference I attended in 1982. Were not common in the Corps at that time

There was an initial funding cut for unit coins during the sequestration but I believe it has been lifted. I ordered 500 coins for my battalion last year so, unless it changed again I think the funding is there.
