My Father in law died during the pandemic on March 30th and we don’t have his DD214. He served in the Air Force. How do I get his DD214?

The easiest way is to work through your local County Veterans assistance office. They can help you with the paperwork to get it submitted. There is a bonus in you going to them, most states fund these offices on how much they are used. So when you go through them, you are helping vets of the future as well.

If this doesn't work, recommend going to a Benefits Officer at the VFW to see if they can leverage their network and grease the skids.

It should be requested by his kin....the regulations state his descendants or spouse.

Either thru the VA (if available) or submit to the National Archives with his SSN.
