What is the average time for the VA to assign a disability award after winning an appeal?

The favorable appeal would include the percentage assignment unless it was remanded for further development. If it's a done deal, expect the money in a couple of weeks unless it is a huge amount, which may require a full blown audit. If it's a remand, it could take months to years, depending on the type of development yet to be done and the workload at the Regional Office of original jurisdiction. For the best answer, ask your Vet Rep. They have their fingers on the pulse of your claim.

It's not a remand. The claim itself was approved as a service connected disability. That was 9 April. "Current status
The Veterans Benefits Administration granted your appeal
The Veterans Benefits Administration agreed with you and decided to overturn the original decision. If this decision changes your disability rating or eligibility for VA benefits, you should see this change made in 1 to 2 months."

Elsewhere I read that it would be two weeks after the appeal was approved. That's kind of confusing. I also saw something where it was forwarded for preparation for notification on 13 April.
