Over the past 2 weeks, I really been struggling more and more dealing with what I consider the total bulls&%t of my civilian counterparts here at work. It's really stressing me out. The things they talk about, complain about, etc; makes my head hurt. Last week, I had one of my coworkers tell me this story about his "Navy friend" that had to go back to Basic Training for the US Army after volunteering for a "special top secret mission". Another one of my coworkers talks endless about these sex parties he attends. Keep in mind, most of my coworkers are 40 - 50 years old including these two.

I'm finding it harder and harder to come to work. I'm finding it harder and harder to maintain my cool and not just yell "Shut up". I find the added stress isn't helping with my already reduced sleep level.

I guess my question to you guys is am I just being hypersensitive? I guess I needed to vent before my head blew up and this is the one place I can turn to and know I will not be judged.

I would call bullshit and tell them if there isn't any pictures it didn't happen. When I took my vacation days I would tell them that I actually went to Iraq with Seal Team 6 to fight ISIS...

Don't sweat it brother either ignore them or tell them you don't want to hear any of that nonsense. Don't let it get to you, definitely not worth it.

Thanks CSM (Join to see), you are always a good voice to follow. I been doing pretty good up to this point over the past 2 years to just let this stuff roll off my back but I guess the past two weeks have been harder to do that. Venting here and knowing I'm not the only one that has/had thoughts like this has helped.

I am still in the Army but I have a lot of friends that have retired or ETSd. They all have told me that the biggest PTSD episodes they have ever had, has been dealing with their civilian co-workers. Some of those folks have seen some heavy combat too!

Keep your cool brother and we are always here for some venting sessions!

SGT Ben Keen This is one of the reason (just one) that you will be able ro run circles around these morons. If you are seeing it, so are their managers and coworkers. They are full of it and everyone knows it. They will wonder why their career stalls and yours continues to rise. Too many people simply do not know how to act at work. They may also be trying to impress you with their stories. I would call BS on the clearly BS. They will eventually get the message.

I don't think civilians will ever have a "mission mentality" and deep down inside they dislike those of us who do.

Ok let me put my psychologist hat on, it's up to you brother what you allow to stress you out, don't give others the power to control how you feel. Now I'm taking off my psychologist hat, people can be stupid and like you I try my best to ignore the ignorant dumb a**
