How are we keeping track of those 1's nd 2' that crosslevel in and may be a risk to themselves?  Noification of the COC an attemptingto keep in touch from across the country can be difficult at best.I worry for my brothers nd sisters returnng from theater especially with the increase in suicide.  What can/are we doing to ensure these brave young men and women are cared for?

CSM,

One of the things we used to do back when we returned from Desert Storm and we many attached Soldiers who would now be considered cross leveling was have units within the vicinity of them no matter wear they were in the country check in with them regularly or have them check with the units as well, it didn't matter if it was NG or USAR, we were all one at that time and had the connections and concerns for the SMs.

I don't know if that element of concern and cohesion still exists in today's mentality, but it worked 20+ years ago for the NG and USAR units and connectivity with the troops.

That may be something you as a CSM could put into the motions at the state level HQs and via the NGB as well to see if that type of workability could be a possibility again as it was just a few decades ago.

It is what we attempt to do however a few slip between the cracks.  by a few I mean hundreds.  It worries me.  I wish the Army would have thought this through a little more before spreading units all over the place.
