Do cyber operations officers require a top-secret clearance?

The army recruiter I am talking to states since I have immigrant parents, I wouldn't qualify for this career. I am a civilian with no criminal record, college graduate, and no debt. Thank you for anyone taking time out of their busy life to help someone on the path.

Yes it requires a top secret clearance. But with immigrant parents it may take a long time for your clearance to go through. Long delay means you don't join. You can join 17C after you join the Army as well, they are always taking applicants. You aren't eligible to be a 25D until you've been in at least 6 years.
