Love of country is good. Blind love of country, not so much.
We love it for both its greatness and its flaws.
We're cocky to the point of arrogance. So was Rome. So was Spain. So was Britain. So was every other Empire before us. Let us be the next great Empire, not the Last Great Empire.

We are the current great empire, but you know what, every great empire falls eventually. I hardly believe and hope that we won't fall, but if you look into it, every great Empire has been at it's peak for an average of 250 years and then had fallen. Not sure Murica is gonna fall anytime soon, though.

Love of the country is important. Too much 'Murica would be killing for it.

The only way we can ensure our "status" as a empire is to ensure that our political leaders are actually leading the country properly. If you look at previous empires their crumbling happened over time due to.bad political leadership (Ottman Empire is a great example) As long as our elected officals do that we can weather any storm, is that happening now, def not but lets hope this next election cycle ushers in new leadership that steers us.correctly
