What can I expect when submitting a WOFT packet? I’m very new at the army life and I really want to fly. I’ve somewhat started the process as far as getting the study materials for the SIFT and getting my appointment set up for vision correction. I guess what I’m asking for is guidance on how to do and what to do. Thanks in advance!

Make sure you study for the SIFT at minimum a month prior to taking it. Ensure you have the basic aerodynamics down and the aeromedical portions. Don’t go too into depth with them but know them. Once you pass that, you’ll begin your flight physical and if all goes well you should be in the process or almost complete with your packet. Once you’d packet has been reviewed and turned into the board, you’ll wait for the results. Results will come out via MILPER message. If selected you’ll receive WOCS orders around 1-3 months after selection. You’ll PCS and begin WOCS at Rucker. After graduating WOCS, you’ll transfer to Bravo Company 1-145th AVN and begin flight school training from there.

Hope this sheds light on what you wanted to know.

Guidance? Study your @$$ of for months for the SIFT. As a PFC, you're not gonna be very competitive, so the SIFT and PT score will be your biggest assets. The packet process is long but not difficult, the medical screening is the biggest discriminator. Hit me up if you have any further questions.

Personal experience. The packet is not challenging to complete. The challenge is making it competitive to hang with the other 100 applicants. The SIFT=no jokePFC (Join to see)
