I have a solider that just graduated BLC. He has all the prereqs to be promoted to SGT we are just waiting on para/line number for him from parent unit (just got back from deployment so things are a little nuts manning wise right now). Can I put him in for CPL here at WTC or does that need to go through parent unit (GANG)?

Regulation says he must be in a SGT position in his MOS. I was a CPL on ADOS at FLW.

SSG(P) (Join to see)
And my parent unit didn't have a say. The unit I was attached to laterally appointed me.

If he is assigned to the GA ARNG, then he must be:
1. on the promotion list in that state.
2. offered and accepted an E5 promotion to a specific para/line
3. moved to that E5 para/line in that unit (regardless of ADOS)
in order to be laterally appointed to CPL or promoted to SGT.
He has BLC complete, so getting offer and getting moved to the para/line means promoting immediately to SGT.
