The new hashtag (#BlueLivesMatter) is sure to stir the emotions in an already tense part of the country. Was this done in bad taste? Was it done to keep the tensions high? With the recent shooting of two Police Officers in Ferguson, will this lead to another Police shooting?

Perhaps instead of hashtags and rhetoric, we should come together as Americans, support the law of the land, and remember without law what we see as lawless now, will not even hold a candle.
Shootings of anyone is a tragedy. As a law enforcement officer, I know the tragedy of un-holstering a weapon. Also, I know the deep sense of loss when one of our brothers or sisters is killed in the line of duty. Senseless killing is senseless killing.
We also have lost sight of the fact that even with the publicity being placed on these events this still only describes about 1% of all law enforcement officers. The media should also present information about the 99% who help people and provide the "service and protection" we all have.
You cannot remove the human factor. People are not perfect. Some will make mistakes, others will just do the wrong thing.
Pray for everyone who has died. No cause furthers by the death of anyone. Death, after all, is inevitable, but I for one am in no hurry.

I feel that police officer have used a great deal of restraint in view of the recent shooting of several officers who were doing nothing to be targeted, like just sitting in their car drinking coffee. This has to STOP!! We are traveling down a road that none of us want to go. At this rate, the end result will definitely be extremely costly and benifit no one or any group.

At this rate, what good do body cams, extra training, or anything do I'd an officer is shot in the dark at 500ft or more. We are getting into the situation of "who wants to throw the first stone". This type of situation can not end well. Everyone need to look for the dirt in their own living room.

You are right SFC Collin McMillion, the end result will be costly and I do not think it is over. Emotions are running high on both sides of the spectrum here. Do you believe we will see another shooting in the Ferguson area (shooting of, or by) a Police Officer? If so, what do you foresee happening there?

No one wants to even consider the prospect of Marshall Law, but what are going to be the choices left. No, I don't think the killings have stopped, and curfews, enabling peaceful demastrations, town meetings, all have failed. I only hope this isn't the beginning of the end there.
