Should the Army consider wearing a seasonal pattern like the Marines do?

Here's an idea: why don't we all use the same pattern...with branch specific tapes and insignia? The DOD should take a few years and figure out which uniform would best suit the needs of the Armed Forces as a whole and roll with it. Didn't it work before? Each branch of service would still maintain their "individuality" with their dress/class A uniform.

SSG Gibson, if you keep up that sense making talk you'll be in big trouble- common sense and logic are strictly forbidden when it comes to things like this !

If choosing a new camo print didn't require 5 million dollars in "camo research" I'd be all for it. I'm not a huge fan of the ACU's but I'm also not a fan of wasting the restricted DoD budget on which camo is most camouflagey in whichever environment.

You can get some of the greatest camo in the world at hunting stores, I have a closet full and it wasn't expensive.

If budget allowed I would be all for it. As it sits I can't even send my Soldiers to school and annual training in the same fiscal year, so this change would be low on my list of priorities.

Annual training. The idea behind the down size was Reserve Component would take up the slack. That was until the budget was re-appropriated. Now we struggle because the RC had better stats.

Aw, c'mon, MAJ (Join to see), get your priorities straight!
What's really more important, knowing what you're doing or stylin' in the latest garritrooper fashion?

Here's a good cost saving measure: Get rid of the A2CU. As a former tanker I missed my old OD coveralls. They were simple, comfortable, and easy to clean. Why the powers that be decided we needed a two piece easily stained ACU look-alike is beyond me. It was a prime example of fixing something that wasn't broken. I'm sure the A2CU isn't cheap either.

Why can't you sir? I thought that school funds came from a separate pot of gold.
Having said that, I know that I am going to NCOES because lack of AT funding.
