In a report on the "wonderful" FoxNews network, an internal report from the VA has shown that recently 19 Veterans fighting cancer have passed away due to lack of treatment.

If you were in a position to make changes within the VA to reduce the wait time, what would you do?

Horrible. With the war on terror creating more veterans, VA should be analyzing its capabilities and adjusting accordingly. Not doctoring paperwork to give the appearance of a backlog that is going away. When it really is not.

Well first off I would demand a full investigation into the deaths of our Veterans. Then I would FIRE any one responsible for this horrible situation. The VA hours of operations need to be increased in order to meet each veterans needs. So if that means on Saturdays the Physicians have to see patients then that's what has to be done. Secondly if the VA hospitals cant see our patients then transfer there care to civilian doctors especially when dealing with cancer. The VA needs to be micro managed like a business not a Government facility like it is. In our ER's We need to transfer critical patients that the hospitals are not equipped to treat immediately not 6-8 hours later. Procedures are only good if they work so over hall them!! Provide a course to Veterans spouse's or care takers on procedures and the VA rules and regulations so that we have the knowledge to help our loved ones. If all else Fails take your Vet to a civilian hospital and have them BILL the VA Hospital!! In the situation of those veterans that died Make the VA PAY financially I recommend a joint lawsuit!
