Is it possible to join the military with a felony?

I don't have a felony and i already in the army so don't assume I am hiding something to enlist. I was just doing some research because i read it in a news article and wanted to know if anyone has ever known of someone who does.

Depending on the offense, and the MOS (or whatever hob titles are in other than Army services) a waiver can be obtained. However, as I stated already.. its case by case basis depending on details of enlistment and security clearance required. I am sure there is more to it, however, I do not have that knowledge. I am sure others who see this question are in a better position to answer it.

I personally worked with another 0231 (Intel Analyst with TS clearance) who had a Grand Theft: Auto (Felony) conviction prior to joining. I don't know the minutia of his waivers, etc to get in, but I know that it is possible to join (or was in the 90s).

It depends. Some things are waiverable while others are not. Age and situation at the time play into the decision
