Iran unveils Saeghe 2
Iran has unveiled its second hunter Saeghe generation (Thunderbolt) locally built (Source: Mehr News Agency ).
The Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Agency unveiled the Saeghe-2 on February 9 when it is delivered to the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF).
While the initial Saeghe was based on the single-seat fighter Northrop F-5E Tiger II, the Saeghe-2 is based rather on the two-seater F-5F.
Physically, the Saeghe-2 carries a double tail as Saeghe 1, although it is impossible to know what internal improvements were made.
The IRIAF has a total of 17 combat aircraft F-5E in its inventory subject to change in Saeghe-2 configuration.
An aviation industry in motion

[EDITORIAL COMMENT:- If a piece of kit does what you want it to do reliably but isn't capable of doing something that you don't need to do - is it 'obsolete'?]

SGT Steven Eugene Kuhn MBA Sergeant; [1] IF the Iranians are NOT planning on attacking any of those bases, does it matter that the aircraft couldn't do it? [2] ANYTHING (well, almost anything [on second thought, since you can use a kitten to disable a tank*, maybe I'll stick with ANYTHING]) can be a "threat" to anything else if you don't really care about cost and are prepared to act "outside the box".
* The tank can be fixed, the kitten can't.

Thank you for your comment, while i give you a "correct" that anything can be a threat to anything, I am speaking generally as the region goes. Obviously every life is precious so I am not diminishing the mater of sacrifice of the one crew or team who may be "attacked" but you could count the seconds before all hell woudl break loose and end the short lived triumph call...is what I am saying...so no, not a real threat.
