Would like better details about joining the army as prior service in the Marine Corps. Is it possible with 10 year break in service?

I am prior service marine. Served from 2004 to 2009. Almost been out for 10 yrs. I’ve talked to recruiters about joining the army. Have app on Thursday. I want to be in 15T. What are the chances of me being selected? Besides the obvious, being in shape and defendants.

If you are under 35 it's possible but you will not retain your rank after such a long break in service. You will also more than likely have to go to basic training, and it won't be a snap (even for a former marine). Basic is hard enough for an 18 year old. In your late 20's or early 30's it's gonna suck dirt. Get your fitness up, familiarize yourself with the Army APFT standard and make sure you can pass it (with a good margin) before you go.
One bonus, though, your time in the Marines will count towards your seniority in pay and towards your retirement.

Being prior service you will be offered needs of the Army. So when you sit down with the guidance counselor its whatever is offered to you. You wont have a preference on job unless you are going into the Reserve or national guard.
