I am currently in Germany and have been promotable for over a year and 8 months, I PCS last April which hindered me from BLC,but since I've been to my unit I'm being told I cant attended BLC unless I have more promotion points than the previous month my company is now starting their 3 month field / JMTC cycle, would BLC take priority over this field/JMTC cycle or could they prevent me from going because of it

Many units have an OML to decide who goes to school and when. This practice had been around since I was a young SPC.

Most organizations have a Order of Merit List which is used to decide who goes to school and when. With the implementation of STEP most organizations are making sure that possible students have completed online requirements and other prerequisites before giving a school date. Mission is important but there are organizations that have made NCOES a priority to reduce the backlog created by years of conflict and to keep their NCOs competitive.

At the end of the day your CO is the guy who decides who goes to BLC. If he wants you in the field rather than in the academy, you're going to be in the field. Check with your BN PAC to see if they will back-date your date of rank to the day you met the cutoff after you pass BLC. It may be a matter of unit policy -- I am not sure though.
