I'm a 68w and I want to go active but I'm in a tough spot housing wise and I'm having trouble finding a new unit. I was wondering if I should stick it out or just try and go active.

If you are attempting to go Active Duty or are you talking about Active Guard Reserve in either case have you spoken to your retention NCO or a recruiter? Your question is a bit vague.

I'm weighing the pros and cons of going active. It's something I would like to do. Considering the situation I'm in I thought it would be a good opportunity.

While I encourage people to go active; you must understand that it takes quite a long time for the process to work. Typically it's an Adjutant General release; that means it must go from your company all the way to state if your Guard. I'm not familiar with the Reserves process, I would imagine it would infinately easier.
What I'm getting at is if you are in a bind, this won't be a quick fix. Active is more of a long term fix versus a short term.
