When getting a pay change from enlisted to officer, does it take effect the following month?

I just commissioned mid-May. My LES for May 1-31 still says E-6. I'm guessing my O-1E pay will appear on my June LES, but I just wanted to make sure it shouldn't have shown up on this one (so that I can try to get it taken care of sooner rather than later if it is a mistake). DFAS is closed and won't open again until Tuesday, so I figured I'd throw it out to the RP group since y'all are so helpful.

You’re covered Shipmate. Your June LES should reflect your correct status. Congrats on the commission. Never forget your enlisted roots.

Thank you. Yes, I will always keep it in mind. Some of the best officers I served with were Mustangs. I plan to keep up that image.

Your pay as an officer should begin the day you became an officer. It should hit the following pay cycle since you commissioned mid-month. You should get back-pay. Please follow up with DFAS and ensure you have a million copies of your previous promotions and your commissioning paperwork, because they will magically disappear.
