There are a few nominative assignments that you must compete and be selected for. You will need CSM mentorship at a minimum. See what is one ASK and call your branch manager. There is more than just the Pentagon. You have Ft Belvior, the Department of the Army's HHC and Garrison. Ft AP Hill. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it. I knew an 88M who was the SMA's driver.

It is possible, but subject to needs of service. Furthermore, a security clearance may be required to ensure suitability for work (i.e. reliability and trustworthiness to drive high-ranking officials).

Another idea is to try out for Old Guard because 88M is an audition qualifying MOS

do they really require individuals to be no less than 6 ft tall? Wow. I wouldn't qualify either then, and I'm 5'11"

Pasting link to their website. Male height is actually 5'10" with potential waiver down to 5'7". Although they are a ceremonial unit based in DC, they recruit from multiple enlisted MOS positions and officer branches
