How long after your fingerprints do you take the asvab?

He probably has to have a Suitability Review. One of my husband’s current applicants needs one from his battalion commander. The applicant was able to test at MEPS just recently regardless of the need. You should have the applicant speak with his Recruiter to find out their command’s policy. Every situation is unique and the Recruiter has to follow his command guidance. I know it’s a frustrating process, but believe me, the Recruiter more than likely wants to help your son, but the Army has rules and regulations and those come first. In the meantime, if your son wants to see where he is, he can take the PiCAT online. It’s unproctored, so he will still need to take a verification assessment at MEPS. Good luck!

Could be a "suitability review" for the misdemeanors, especially if he has any other charges that were dismissed/dropped without a conviction. It would not be for a misconduct waiver (yet anyway) because the ASVAB and physical exam are required before a waiver will be considered. The fingerprints at the recruiting station are just an "advanced check" to make sure the criminal history is accurately listed and documented through police and court checks before further processing takes place. This was instituted around 2012 to reduce the number of applicants whose fingerprints came back with concealed charges after going to MEPS. This is to save the government the cost of testing/physical exam for applicants that are disqualified and attempting to conceal criminal history. The recruiters have a "quota" to make, so if your son is qualified to enlist, trust me they will get him to MEPS for processing and enlistment as soon as possible. If they "blow him off", then most likely he is disqualified for something.

They probably don't want to waste their or your sons time in case there are issues with the ASVAB. A lot of recruiters also give a special version of the ASVAB called a picat that isn't timed so people tend to score higher. With the picat though you have to be able to go to MEPS and sign your initial contract within 7 days of taking it. So that may be why the recruiter is holding off. As long as you don't feel like the recruiter is completely blowing your son off (as long as he's still working with your son and not just pushing him aside completely) then I wouldn't worry.
