Irene Cortes is your checklist and all accompanying documents turned in? Your service member needs to work with his chain of command to follow up.

Checklist: https://www.pdffiller.com/jsfiller-mob/?projectId=270191702&expId=4571&expBranch=1#9c0da6a1b89041a59b55b76b7181625c

The last time he checked on it, where was the packet?

No disrespect intended, have you done your EFMP Screening yet? Has your husband actually submitted the necessary paperwork for command sponsorship? It’s easy to blame it on your command when you don’t wa t to take responsibility of why things are not happening the way it’s suppose to be. If your EFMP was done and actually submitted to the appropriate office, you would have received and approval or disapproval by now.

I asked if your spouse has done his part because when I was a dependent married to a service member, he had me convinced he did everything and was waiting on his command. Well I found out that wasn’t true, not one time did he inform me I needed an EFMP physical (even though they gave him the form to give to me). I hope that’s not the case but the command can’t process the request without the EFMP. Good Luck to you...

I did indeed do my EFMP screening back in November and I know my husband has done his part, I know that the commanders who are signing it and the S1 are having an issue because the paperwork keeps going back and forth between them adding comments to add and delete the same stuff. Which is why I’m asking if there’s anyone higher rank we can go to for this

I’ve flown to Germany twice already to see if me physically being there helps

The S1 should already have a set format or an example packet on how to request command sponsorship. There shouldn’t be any comments or deletions of comments because it’s either going to be checked off approved or disapproved. You going over there in person will not make things go any faster, it can actually get him in trouble if something happens to you over there because you’re not covered medically and the command will have to be notified if something happens to you.

Have your husband to go to his S1 with his squad leader or Platoon Sergeant to find out what the process is, write it down, do a checklist to make sure he has everything. If he has completed everything on the checklist, request to see his CSM on the open door policy for his advice and assistance.

One of two things will happen, either he’ll find out someone in the command or S1 didn’t forward the paperwork or your husband haven’t done his part. If he refuses to get his squad leader and/or platoon sergeant involved, then you’ll know it’s not the command it’s your spouse. Good luck to you. Irene Cortes

SFC (Join to see) - I would also say to drop that packet in a document reader and make a safety copy in case one or more of the documents get lost along the way.

I suggest you make sure your husband is asking about it constantly. Don't rush because once you get here in Germany, you wont get any benefits financially, just COLA. and that's just change.
