What is the current policy regarding NCOES completion for pinning of rank during a deployment?

I recently found out I have been picked up for SSG in a unit slated for deployment this CY. I have completed all prerequisites for my NCOES, but I do not have a seat or status at any school house for ALC. If my gaining unit is unable to get me through NCOES prior to the mobilization, will I remain in my current paygrade and rank during the deployment, or is there a deployment waiver for the NCOES requirement as it stands now?
To be perfectly honest, I thought I was grayed out on the EPS list by virtue of my NCOES deficiency, and was caught off guard by the notification that I had been selected to fill an E6 slot.

There is a Deployment Waiver Request. According to the Regs and ALARACT Message, you need to be deployed to a country that receives Imminent Danger Pay. Here is the ALARCT Message you will need to reference: ALARACT 078/2018

SFC (Join to see) So I know the predicament you are in very well. I was in the 76th as an E-5 and got promoted into the E-6 slot in the 384th. I did not have my ALC done so i had to wear the E-5 rank and get the E-5 pay. But as soon as I was able to get ALC done my training NCO put my promotion date for the date of graduation. Then you get the back pay until you get pinned. Hope this answers your question.

You can get “promoted” to that slot, but you won’t wear E6 until you complete NCOES. There’s a E5 92Y in my BN that’s been trying to get an ALC slot for years, at no fault of the SM. But every year, they review the ETP, which allows them to keep their PARA/LIN.

If the waiver is granted, he can wear the rank. He will then have two years upon completion of deployment to complete the required NCOES or else the rank gets taken away.

I am aware of the waiver. I’m just pointing out how it will likely work, or at least does in Kansas, because we are dealing with an large amount of PME Failures. It is still the Army, so it doesn’t hurt to believe in the worst case scenario, and when better happens you can enjoy it. MSG (Join to see)
